Materials with lower environmental impact

Why is this important?

The materials used to make our products are one of the two main sources of environmental impact. It is therefore essential, when designing our products, to choose materials that have a reduced impact on the environment.

Our eco-designed products therefore commit to incorporating a minimum of 30% of materials with a lower environmental impact.

A 100% recycled aluminium non-stick pan emits up to 60% less CO2 than a standard aluminum non stick pan at a factory scope*.

* Life cycle analysis at a plant scope comparing Expertise made in virgin aluminum VS an equivalent pan made in 100% recycled aluminium body.

In the future

In the future, we aim to reach 13 500 tons of
recycled aluminium in our products made in
Rumilly, France by 2025.

On average,

50% of our Tefal pressure cookers are made from
80% recycled stainless steel.

Lower impact materials: what does this mean?

1- Recycled materials that have already been used: this avoids extracting natural resources

2 - Certified, renewable or plant-based materials*

*Bio-based materials, using non-food resources

We have everything to gain!

Whether they are made from recycled, certified or bio-based materials, Tefal products never compromise on quality: providing the same service and offering the same performance. They also play a part in creating a more circular economy, with less impact on our environment and more benefits for our territories.

Our eco-design criteria

The life cycle analysis of our products allowed us to identify
5 eco-design priorities to reduce our impacts:
